Better Technology
As part of a hospital wide medication safety initiative, pharmacy has implemented a high speed unit dose packager, an inventory control medication carousel, Pneumatic Tube system, and automated dispensing cabinets.
The Pneumatic tube are used for rapid delivery of no-routine medication orders, stat orders and urgent medication needs in the units. The different areas in the hospital are all connected to the pneumatic tube system with our choice of space-saving stations in modern designs.

Our Pharmacists
Inpatient Medication distribution is done primarily through automated dispensing cabinets on all nursing units which interface with the clinical information system. The pharmacist must have reviewed the order before the nurse can obtain the dose for administration. This new automated technology supports safer seamless care for patients through bar code scanning and a decentralized drug distribution system where 95 per cent of drugs are ready and available on patient care units at all times.
