Follow these guidelines when it comes to balancing your diet:

Drink plenty of water. Other drinks high in sugar should be kept to a minimum. Look at the label for portion sizes and sugar content. Eat from nature and Limit processed foods, ones found in cans or packages, and read labels to monitor portion size and unhealthy ingredients.

Eat a diet of lean protein, such as chicken and fish, whole grains and vegetables and fruits. Fresh or frozen vegetables are preferred versus canned vegetables. It is important to eat brightly colored fruit and vegetables in your diet.
